Dominique is a mermaid who is on track to rule the kingdom in the swamp-lands of Louisiana, but her strong sense of wanderlust and possibilities makes her want to travel and see the world. Through her deeply moving and meaningful interactions with humans, Dominique is faced with decisions about her future, her love, and her life. Underscored with bluesy New Orleans style music, Dominique of the Marsh is an unparalleled theatrical experience.

Narrator: 30+, can be male or female. If male, he will be a bass, and AA to portray Baron Semedi. If female, she would be an alto, white, with red hair to portray Mama Brigitte.
Dominique: 18-25 Female, mezzo, must be a POC, heavy dance involvement
Thomas Grayson: 18-25 Male, love interest of Dominique, tenor, must play guitar, non-specific race.
Michelle: 18-25 Female, alto, friend of Dominique, POC, preferably African American
Cormac: 18-35 M/F, White/Irish immigrant, tenor, friend of Thomas’
Rafael: 40-60 Male, Bass, Dominique’s father, non-specific race
James Grayson: 40-60 Male, Tenor, Thomas’ father, must be a biological portrayal
Madame Delbeau, The Priestess: 35-60 Female, Mezzo, POC, preferably African American
Admiral Jordan: 30+, male or female.

Solos in chorus
3 female siren dance soloists
The chorus for the marsh community must be diverse, and can be on land as well.
